01 The idea
One maker. The whole launch.
An international brand that starts in Georgia. Websites and apps, motion and video, Google Maps profiles and Meta ads, for any kind of business.
Label clearly, make it stunning.
The rule chosen on the first night, and the one that shaped everything after it. No invented client, no invented number. Every piece is marked Client, Concept or Lab.
- FounderDavit, Tbilisi.

Day one.
The exposure sheet.
Built in one night: a non-photo-blue field, graphite ink, one carmine accent for key marks, a frame ruler down the side and a 20-second showreel with its own score.

What it got right: honesty. Every figure on the page was marked as a sample. No client was named that did not exist.
What it got wrong: the buyer. It spoke to a premium international client, while the research pointed to small businesses at home. The review said so by breakfast.
03 11 Oct · 12:30
Audited by lunch.
Two independent reviews filed 642 items. The sharpest: sample figures typeset as claims, a Meta promise too big, and no body of work. The fixes were in by midday.
Layout shift, desktop
0.173→0.0001
Cumulative layout shift. The wordmark was rebuilt so it never moves the page.
Layout shift, phone
0.142→0.0002
Fonts self-hosted and preloaded.
Largest paint, phone
4.58 s→2.18 s
A lighter reel for phones, a poster first.
Also fixed
A pause-motion switch · a "Sample" tag on every metric · focus rings · a nav that fits 320 px · forced-colours mode · "Work" renamed "Services"

Three ways out of the blue.
The same page, re-dressed three times in one morning. Each theme wrote down its own risk. None of the three was ever merged.

Dark is a positioning signal.

The grid over footage reads as noise.

Loud could read as playful, not expensive.

A new name.
The first name failed every check: an identical registered mark, rivals on the same word, the domains gone. Two rounds of search, two shortlists turned down. On 17 October the brand became MAVKU.
- Not an agencyAn agency implies a team and sits on the cheapest anchors. One maker, the whole launch.
- Not a sectorNo industry labels anywhere. The work is for every kind of business.
- Not generatedClient-facing pages never name a tool. Designed, then built.
- Georgian first-classOne language per screen. Georgian set in real capitals, never smaller than the English.

Four directions.
All rejected.
Twelve reference sites were scored for what to borrow and what to avoid. Four directions were built in parallel before dawn. By noon, all four were out.

The client received one site, four times.
From the postmortem. Every direction had one object, or one giant word, with one claim. The references all do the opposite: many projects on the first screen, a plain statement above flush tiles. The postmortem ended in 13 rules to follow and 15 never to break.
07 19 to 22 Oct
Scores did not decide.
Eyes did.
Every round was scored by an independent model. The scores were useful. They were never the decision.
Critic model · Sweep
9/ 10
The critic model scored the Sweep direction 9 with no rule broken. The founder rejected all four the same day.
Review model · V4
8→9
Round one found tiles that looked like stock renders. Round two: 9 in every category, none at 10.
Blind test · a model as a business owner
3→4→7
"Looks empty and unfinished, like a wireframe." The preview was rebuilt twice until the tester read it as a real listing.
How AI was used
AI models worked as critics, testers and extra hands along the way. Every decision was the founder's: what to reject, what to keep, how it should look. The taste and the concept are Davit's.

08 19 to 20 Oct
Greybox first.
Then three layouts.
No colour until the structure held. Three layouts, then real stills. The critic's verdict on the first pass: one site, three times. So one rule changed: each version must differ by what organises the page.

V4. Three verbs.
One name field.
Get seen. Get found. Get chosen. The verbs are the hero, the menu and the chapters. The visitor types a business name once and sees it inside an ad, a Maps listing and a website.

- TypeArchivo for Latin, Noto Sans Georgian for Georgian. No third face. No uppercase anywhere.
- ColourWall #0d0d0d Paper #f2f2f0. The exact fields the reel was rendered on, so the film sits on the page with no box. No accent colour. Colour comes only from the work.
- ShapeTwelve columns. Radius 0 everywhere.
- Motion150, 240, 600 and 900 ms. Transform and opacity only. A full opt-out under reduced motion.
- KeptThe mono reel from V1. The verbs and the name field from V2. The graphite wall from V3.
- DroppedPalette switches, a serif, pills, numbered steps, the poster wall, tilt, halftone.
Round one · 21 Oct 12:40
8/ 10
Six concept tiles looked like stock renders, with invented star ratings and a map of the wrong city. Previews two-thirds empty. Georgian cut off. Two buttons on a phone.
Round two · 21 Oct 17:45
9every category
Tiles rebuilt by hand in HTML and CSS. One button on a phone. A 160-word cap on the English. Lighthouse 98 / 100 / 100 / 100 on a phone, zero accessibility errors.

Live.
One edge worker, 418 files, a brief form, and a personal reply the same day, within 8 hours. The first upload failed. The second went through to both domains.

A note from the founder
I started MAVKU to do one thing properly: websites, films, Maps profiles and ads for businesses of every kind, with nothing invented. This page is the first twelve days, kept honest, every version as it was. If you want the same care on your project, write to hello@mavku.com.
